In an unexpected twist to global politics and celebrity feuds, Elon Musk has accepted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's challenge to a physical fight.
New Arch-Enemy
According to El Economista this unusual confrontation emerged from a heated exchange on social media earlier this week.
Maduro labeled Musk as “our new arch-enemy” and publicly challenged the tech mogul to a fight.
“Do you want to fight, Elon Musk? Let’s go,” Maduro declared at a public event.
He emphasized his readiness to battle Musk, invoking his connection to historical figures Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez, and added a defiant note against foreign interference in Venezuela.
Compared to Zuckerberg
Musk responded to the challenge on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), setting his own terms for the fight.
He proposed that if he wins, Maduro should step down as Venezuela's leader. Conversely, if Maduro prevails, Musk promised a free trip to Mars, a nod to his space exploration company, SpaceX. Musk even shared a poll encouraging followers to vote on the outcome of this peculiar match-up.
Musk’s acceptance of the challenge drew comparisons to another high-profile fight he had previously promoted, a potential mixed martial arts bout against Meta's Mark Zuckerberg. Musk joked that Maduro’s robust physique would make Zuckerberg look comparatively small, suggesting that the fight with Maduro would be over quickly.
In response, Maduro has accused Musk of being a “criminal” and claimed that the billionaire is now “very scared” following his acceptance of the challenge. Maduro reiterated his stance, warning that anyone who crosses him or Venezuela would face dire consequences.
