A new poll reveals that a majority of Danish voters support sending peacekeepers to Ukraine once a ceasefire is in place, according to Ritzau on February 21.
The survey, conducted by Voxmeter, found that 53% of respondents back Denmark’s participation in a future peacekeeping mission. Meanwhile, 15% oppose the idea, and 32% remain undecided.
Beyond peacekeeping, the poll also highlighted strong support for Ukraine’s integration into Western alliances, with 66% favoring EU membership and 68% supporting NATO accession.

Denmark’s Role in Ukraine’s Defense
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Denmark has provided 53.7 billion kroner ($7.55 billion) in military aid to Ukraine, making it one of Kyiv’s largest donors.
While Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has committed to strengthening Denmark’s own military, she has stated that discussions on peacekeepers are premature. However, she remains open to UK-led proposals on the matter.
On February 20, Frederiksen met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reaffirm Denmark’s commitment to supporting Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Dutch House of Representatives recently passed a resolution supporting the potential deployment of peacekeeping forces once a ceasefire is agreed upon, according to Dutch broadcaster NOS.
With public and political support growing across Europe, discussions on post-war stability in Ukraine continue to gain momentum.
