Russian President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the need for a "severe" response to foreign agents' efforts to destabilize Russia by assisting Ukraine, according to the independent Russian news site The Moscow Times.

In a video address, Putin accused the Kyiv regime of employing terrorist methods with the backing of foreign intelligence services.

These acts, he claimed, include sabotage against civilian, transport, and energy infrastructure, as well as attacks on civilians and officials.

Putin's statement comes amid reports of numerous sabotage attacks on Russian railroads and drone strikes attributed to Ukraine since the onset of Moscow's offensive in Ukraine in February 2022.

On the occasion of security agency workers' day, Putin acknowledged the challenging task faced by security services but expressed confidence in their capabilities to ensure the safety and security of the state, society, and Russian citizens.
