On November 13, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone assault on Kyiv.

This is the first attack on the city in 73 days.

Preliminary reports indicate that the assault likely included Kh-101/55 cruise missiles launched from at least four Tu-95MS aircraft, KN-23/KN-24/Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and drones of various types, including Shahed, Geran, Herbera, and Parodiya.

According to United24 Media, air raid sirens sounded across the capital around 6:30 a.m., warning of an incoming Shahed drone threat, while cruise missiles were already heading toward the Kyiv region. As these missiles approached, Russian forces launched a simultaneous ballistic strike on Kyiv, followed by another wave of drones. The entire air assault lasted over two hours

In the Kyiv region, a 48-year-old man sustained head injuries from falling debris, and a fire broke out in a warehouse in the Brovary district.

As of 10:30 a.m., there were no further reports of damage or casualties in Kyiv.

The Kyiv City Military Administration warned that precautionary power cuts may be implemented as Russia continues targeting energy infrastructure ahead of winter.

"The Russians have stockpiled cruise missiles for winter attacks, as confirmed by their use of strategic aviation," said Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

He assured the public, “All enemy plans are known and understood, and Ukraine will counter them.”
