Ukraine’s Armed Forces have reported that Russia’s casualty count since the start of its invasion on February 24, 2022, has reached an eye-watering 696,410 soldiers.

According to Ukraine’s General Staff, this includes 1,460 troops lost in just the past 24 hours.

This was reported by the Kyiv Independent.

Heavy Equipment Losses

Alongside the personnel losses, Russia’s military hardware has also taken a heavy hit:

  • 9,162 tanks and 18,470 armored vehicles lost on the battlefield.

  • 28,038 vehicles and fuel trucks decimated.

  • 20,039 artillery systems and 1,244 multiple launch rocket systems destroyed.

  • 994 air defense systems, 369 airplanes, and 329 helicopters out of commission.

  • 18,088 drones brought down, along with 28 naval vessels and 1 submarine.

Ukraine’s military attributes these mounting losses to strategic strikes and the resilience of its defense forces, adding that Russia’s ability to sustain such losses in personnel and equipment continues to be stretched thin.
