Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, emphasized the need for Europe to assume greater responsibility for its own security, positioning Poland as a leader in enhancing the European Union’s stability.

He made this statement at a media briefing while commenting on the recent U.S. elections, according to a report by Ukrinform.

Sikorski expressed Poland’s respect for the American people's choice.

He noted that Poland’s foreign policy, which involves maintaining political connections with both Democrats and Republicans, has been validated.

Sikorski thanked both U.S. presidential candidates for their kind words about Poland and reaffirmation of the alliance between Warsaw and Washington, adding that he is in regular contact with top security representatives from Donald Trump’s team.

“Europe must immediately take greater responsibility for its security by increasing defense spending and making decisive migration policy choices. Poland is already taking steps that some of its allies are only just beginning to consider,” Sikorski emphasized.

Sikorski believes that with renewed trust in the EU and strong relations with the U.S., Poland will play a leading role in enhancing the EU’s stability.

“The wind of history is blowing even stronger, and Polish leadership will fulfill its mission,” stated the Foreign Minister.

Although the vote count is ongoing, Trump has already declared victory. According to media reports, Trump is leading in all key states.
