Norwegian oil company Haltbakk Bunkers has announced it will cease supplying fuel to US forces in Norway and to US ships docking at Norwegian ports.

The decision came in response to what the company described as "the shittiest show ever aired on live television"—referring to the heated exchange between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday.

Haltbakk Bunkers criticized the US stance on Ukraine, commending Zelensky for his restraint while accusing the US of orchestrating a "treacherous TV show."

"We have decided to immediately halt fuel supplies to the US military in Norway and their ships in Norwegian ports. No fuel for the Americans!" the company declared.

The company also urged Norwegians and Europeans to follow suit, concluding its statement with "Glory to Ukraine."

The statement was initially posted on Facebook but was later removed.

The Ban Will Last Until Trump Leaves Office

Meanwhile, Haltbakk Bunkers' owner, Gunnar Gran, confirmed the decision, stating, "As you probably understand, not a single litre will be delivered until Trump is gone," in an interview with Kystens Næringsliv.

Gran also noted that the company had previously severed ties with Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

In contrast, Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore Sandvik reassured that Norway would continue supporting the United States. In an official statement on March 2, Sandvik stated, "We have seen reports raising concerns about the supply of fuel to US Navy ships in Norway. This does not align with the policy of the Norwegian government."

He emphasized that Norway has fully met all US supply requests and that allied American troops will continue receiving necessary resources and assistance.

Haltbakk Bunkers AS is a privately owned Norwegian oil and shipping company that plays a significant role in Norway’s maritime industry, supplying fuel to ships in Norwegian ports, including NATO and allied forces.

According to the UK Defence Journal, the company's decision could have "logistical implications" for US naval operations in the region.

What Sparked the Dispute?

The dispute between Trump and Zelensky occurred on February 28 during an Oval Office meeting intended to finalize an agreement on mineral extraction from Ukrainian territory.

Tensions escalated after US Vice President J.D. Vance suggested a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict. Zelensky countered that negotiating with Vladimir Putin was futile, as he had violated past agreements.

In response, Trump accused Zelensky of disrespecting the United States and being unwilling to pursue peace, ultimately causing the mineral deal to collapse.
