On the night of July 23, Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted and shot down seven out of eight Russian Shahed-type attack UAVs.

This information was announced by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, via Telegram.

The attack originated from the airspace of Russia's Kursk region, involving a Kh-69 guided air missile and eight Shahed-type attack UAVs.

The primary target of the assault was Ukraine's Sumy region.

To repel the attack, Ukraine deployed units from its mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units within the Air Force.

The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense successfully shot down seven Shahed-131/136 drones.

As a result of active countermeasures, the Kh-69 guided air missile failed to reach its intended target.

This recent incident follows another attack on July 21, when Russian forces targeted critical infrastructure in the Shostkinsky District of Sumy Oblast.
