In a recent interview with Ukrainska Pravda, Petro Kuzyk, the commander of the Svoboda battalion, shed light on the current state of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their ongoing conflict against Russia.
Despite being outnumbered both technically and quantitatively, Kuzyk highlights the superior motivation and quality of the Ukrainian military as their key advantages.
According to Kuzyk, the Russian army has an overwhelming superiority in terms of technical equipment, boasting more tanks, better quality of these tanks, a larger stockpile of ammunition, and a more extensive array of artillery to support infantry and offensive operations.
They also have an advantage in terms of aircraft utilization and electronic warfare capabilities. "As for the technical equipment, here they outnumber us in everything," Kuzyk stated, emphasizing the stark contrast in military might.
The sacret land
However, he remains steadfast in his belief that the Ukrainian forces hold a crucial edge: "We are on our land, for us this war is sacred."
This intrinsic motivation, coupled with a high quality of infantry, sets the Ukrainian military apart. "We protect our families, we protect our people from real inhumans," Kuzyk passionately declared.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the proficiency and precision of Ukrainian artillerymen stand out, even though they operate under stringent ammunition constraints. "Our artillerymen are more professional and accurate.
But we are given a very limited amount of ammunition," he noted, hinting at the resource challenges faced by the Ukrainian forces.
Kuzyk illustrated these points by recounting the battalion's experience in defending Rubizhne, where they endured approximately "500 strikes, give or take" in a single hour.
In stark contrast, the Ukrainian side was able to respond with a mere two mortar fires during the same time frame.
Despite these challenges, the determination and skill of the Ukrainian military shine through, showcasing a remarkable display of resilience and tenacity.
As the world watches on, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to fight for their land, their people, and their freedom, embodying a spirit of unwavering resistance.
