The homeowner, who chose to remain anonymous, detailed the bizarre scene
Upon entering his residence, neatly folded laundry on his living room chair greeted him, along with the aroma of cooked food emanating from his kitchen.
Outside, he found Robert Otis, a local man experiencing homelessness, sweeping by his pool.
When questioned about his presence, Otis claimed to be working with a pool maintenance company—a puzzling claim since the homeowner never employed such a service.
The situation escalated quickly as the homeowner, taking precautions, held Otis at gunpoint until Hattiesburg police officers arrived.
Otis was subsequently arrested and charged with Residential Burglary.
