A young boy named Sullivan has become an internet sensation after unintentionally causing a stir during his own baptism ceremony.
The incident occurred at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Lancaster, New York, and was captured on video, which has since garnered over 4.5 million views on TikTok.
Candace Williams, Sullivan's mother, was holding her 11-month-old son in her arms when the unexpected moment unfolded. The ceremony began smoothly, with family and friends gathered around the church's priest.
Sullivan, dressed in a baptismal gown, appeared curious and was looking up at the priest.
However, the young boy seemed to grow bored as the priest read from the Bible. Sullivan waved his hands and accidentally knocked the priest's Bible into the baptismal font.
The incident elicited reactions from both Candace and the other attendees, while the priest looked less than pleased.
Candace, 35, described the situation as comical and expressed gratitude towards the priest for continuing with the ceremony. "He was a true professional. He picked up the book and carried on, flipping through the wet pages," she explained.
The video has sparked various comments online, with one user writing, "The baby was like, 'That's enough,'" and another noting, "Now it's an extra holy Bible."
Candace revealed that when they were about to baptize him, they had to place his head against the front cover of the book. "He looked around at everyone and smiled. He knows when he's being funny," she added.
The viral moment has become a 'lifelong story' for Sullivan and his family, capturing the hearts and laughs of people worldwide.
