An oil depot in Russia’s Voronezh region caught fire after being hit by multiple drone strikes.

This was confirmed by the regional governor, Alexander Gusev, on Jan. 15. He added that no casualties had been reported.

Voronezh, a city located about 465 kilometers south of Moscow, became the latest site of concern in a series of drone-related incidents.

These strikes appear to be part of an ongoing escalation in Ukraine’s efforts to target Russian energy and military infrastructure.

Ukraine’s drone operations have been increasing in scale and intensity. On Jan. 14, the Ukrainian military carried out what it described as its largest strike on Russian facilities within a range of up to 1,100 kilometers, reports the Kyiv Independent.

According to Ukraine’s Security Service, the targets included chemical plants, refineries, ammunition depots, and other strategic sites such as the Engels airbase.

This information was reported by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

In response, Russia has continued its missile strikes against Ukraine’s energy network, which has already sustained severe damage.

On Jan. 15, explosions were reported in multiple Ukrainian regions. Lviv Oblast was among the areas affected.

Andriy Sadovyi, the mayor of Lviv, stated that Russian forces had attacked energy facilities in the region and throughout the country.

Later in the day, officials from Lviv Oblast confirmed that critical infrastructure had been hit in two districts.

They reassured the public that there were no injuries or fatalities reported from these attacks.

The ongoing exchanges between the two nations have put immense strain on infrastructure on both sides.

While Ukraine increases its pressure on Russian military and industrial sites, Russia’s retaliatory actions continue to disrupt daily life and energy supplies in Ukraine.

As the conflict escalates, both sides face growing challenges and uncertainties.
