Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day have left one civilian dead and at least seven others injured, according to reports from regional authorities early on August 5.

Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted all 24 "kamikaze" drones launched by Russia overnight.

The drones were targeted at multiple regions including Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, as confirmed by Ukraine’s Air Force.

The Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast endured some of the heaviest attacks, with both drones and artillery fire causing major damage.

Governor Serhii Lysak reported that the small mining town of Pokrov was hit particularly hard. Among the injured were a 26-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman. The attacks also damaged a local cafe, a shop, residential buildings, and key energy infrastructure.

In Donetsk Oblast, a Russian strike on the town of Hrodivka claimed one life and left another person injured, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin. Additional injuries were reported in the towns of Ukrainsk and Vesele.

Kherson Oblast also saw multiple attacks over the past day, resulting in injuries to four civilians, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported.

Elsewhere in Ukraine, Chernihiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts also came under fire. No casualties were reported in those regions.
