As the war in Ukraine enters its 1,000th day, tensions are rising. Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has issued a dire warning about the global risks of recent decisions by U.S. President Joe Biden.

Szijjártó described the next two months as the “most dangerous in recent decades.” He accused Biden of making decisions that could escalate the Ukraine war into a global catastrophe, according to Digi24.

His comments follow Biden’s approval for Ukraine to use long-range missiles against Russian targets.

The warning came after Ukraine launched U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles for the first time. The attack targeted a munitions depot in Russia’s Bryansk region.

The depot stored artillery shells, bombs, and anti-aircraft missiles. Ukrainian sources confirmed the strike’s success.

Szijjártó criticized Biden directly. He claimed that allowing U.S. weapons to hit Russian soil risks starting a world war.

He accused Western leaders of prolonging the conflict. He referred to them as part of a "War Party" pushing for global escalation.

Szijjártó also expressed optimism about Donald Trump’s potential return to power. He called it a “great chance” for Europe to regain peace. He did warn that peace efforts face opposition from leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.

Ukraine’s use of ATACMS missiles has sparked global debate. Supporters argue the weapons are vital for countering Russian aggression. Critics worry that such strikes could worsen the conflict.

Hungary’s position reflects deep divisions within Europe. The country remains critical of measures that escalate the war. Szijjártó’s comments is an indicator of his fears that recent actions could spiral into something much larger.
