Ukrainian partisans active in occupied Crimea report that Russia is training foreign mercenaries, allegedly from African countries and Cuba, in the Sevastopol area.
Training Mercenaries for Combat
Defense Express confirms that Atesh, a Ukrainian partisan group, discovered the training sites during their regular reconnaissance efforts.
The training grounds are located in the Haharinskii district and appear to be used by Russia to prepare mercenaries for combat, according to Digi24.
Partisans, or underground resistance fighters, play a vital role in gathering intelligence behind enemy lines.
These groups are often locals who remain in occupied areas and work in secret to disrupt the occupying forces and gather critical information.
In Crimea, Ukrainian partisans provide key intelligence on Russian activities, often at great personal risk.
Military Trucks Arrive Regularly
The training site used for these mercenaries is reportedly associated with Russia’s 810th Naval Infantry Brigade.
This brigade is a prominent unit within Russia’s Black Sea Fleet and specializes in amphibious operations, urban warfare, and ground combat.
The 810th Brigade has been actively involved in various military operations since the start of the conflict. Now, it appears they are working with international recruits to boost their ranks, likely as a response to heavy losses suffered on the front lines.
Atesh reports that military trucks arrive regularly at the Haharinskii site, bringing new recruits who do not resemble the local population, suggesting they are from other regions.
Partisans also note that the training grounds are sometimes used for target practice sessions with teenagers, raising serious concerns.
The local resistance claims Russian forces may even be using children as human shields to protect soldiers and foreign recruits from Ukrainian attacks.
