German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs, Robert Habeck, has been placed under heightened security following a series of anonymous threats, according to reports from Welt.

Accoridng to Lenta the intensified security measures come in response to approximately 700 complaints Habeck has received concerning threats against his life. These threats have reportedly included alarming messages such as, "Your head will roll, you have a choice—whether it will be peaceful or we will do it by force. We will hang you," and other violent warnings.

The threatening communications have further included claims that Habeck "deserves to be shot" and assertions that "no bodyguard will be able to protect him if necessary." These statements have significantly raised concerns about the Vice Chancellor's safety.
