China has successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) as part of its military exercises.

China’s missile forces conducted a successful test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Wednesday morning, targeting international waters in the Pacific Ocean.

The test was part of the planned annual exercises for the People's Liberation Army (PLA) missile troops, according to China Central Television (CCTV).

Details of the Launch

The ICBM was carrying a simulated warhead.

It was launched at 8:44 a.m. local time. It successfully hit its target area in the Pacific Ocean, as predetermined by the military exercise plan.

“This missile launch is part of the annual exercises for China’s missile forces,” CCTV reported. The goal of the test was to evaluate the state of the missile armaments and the training level of China’s military personnel.

China's government informed neighboring countries about the missile test ahead of time.

In related news, satellite images have recently confirmed the aftermath of Russia's failed tests of its Sarmat nuclear missile (RS-28) at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia's Arkhangelsk region.
