A Russian Yak-130 military aircraft crashed in the Volgograd region, according to a report by the 112 Telegram channel on October 10.

The plane came down in Kalmykia, roughly 40 kilometers from Elista.

The pilot managed to eject just before impact, sustaining injuries. He was promptly airlifted to a hospital in Volgograd for treatment.

The crash took place during a training exercise, as confirmed by the regional prosecutor’s office.

Investigators are looking into the cause, with early indications pointing to a possible technical malfunction.

In a separate incident, Ukrainian forces recently captured a rare Russian Okhotnik stealth drone that crashed near Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

The drone, which has a wingspan of 65 feet and is jet-powered, is one of only a few in operation.
