Life in captivity is the worst form of existence, as every living being, whether animal or human, is meant to be free. Unfortunately, we often come across stories of animals that end up spending their lives in chains, never experiencing freedom.
A puma named Mufasa found himself in such a situation. He was part of a circus in Peru and was forced to spend his days chained in the back of a pickup truck for 20 years.
Like many circus animals, Mufasa was neglected and abused.
Thankfully, his suffering came to an end, thanks to the animal welfare organization Animal Defenders International. They did everything in their power to put an end to Mufasa's struggle and give him a new chance at life.
Their goal was to shut down the circus, and that's how they discovered Mufasa in the first place. It wasn't easy to get him out, but they succeeded.
Mufasa finally got to live as he always should have. He experienced freedom and enjoyed nature, but sadly, his happiness was short-lived.
This beautiful puma died of kidney failure just months after being rescued. However, at least he spent his last days as a free animal, experiencing what it means to be loved and cared for.
No animal deserves to be treated the way Mufasa was. May he rest in peace.
