Check your pantry for Hickory Hollow Beef Jerky products, as a recall has been issued across five states. The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is recalling these ready-to-eat beef jerky products because they were produced without proper federal inspection.

The affected jerky was sold in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oklahoma, both in retail stores and online.

Approximately 6,229 pounds of jerky were incorrectly labeled with a USDA inspection mark, even though they hadn't been inspected.

The recall includes several flavors of Hickory Hollow Beef Jerky, such as:

  • 2.8-ounce bags of Honey Mustard Bacon Jerky

  • 3.25-ounce bags of Jamaican Jerked, Original, Hot Shot, Peppered, Jalapeno Original, Sweet Heat BBQ, Macho Nacho, Honey Original, and Teriyaki

These products were sold from January 19, 2024, through August 21 and have an establishment number “EST. NO. 34550” on the packaging.

Though no illnesses have been reported, FSIS advises consumers to throw away or return any recalled products.

If you experience any reactions after consuming the jerky, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
