FDA Issues Warning on Microdosing Edibles After Multiple Hospitalizations

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has launched an investigation into a series of consumer illnesses and hospitalizations linked to Diamond Shruumz brand chocolate bars, cones, and gummies.

Reports of Severe Symptoms

The investigation began after reports of severe symptoms from consuming these products. Symptoms reported include:

  • Seizures

  • Central nervous system depression: loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness

  • Agitation

  • Abnormal heart rates

  • Blood pressure issues: both high and low

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

As of June 11, 2024, 12 people across eight states have reported illness, with 10 requiring hospitalization. No deaths have been reported.

The affected products include all flavors of Diamond Shruumz Microdosing Chocolate Bars, Infused Cones, and both Micro Dose and Macro Dose Gummies.

Diamond Shruumz products are sold online and at retail shops that typically sell CBD, hemp, and THC products.

Safety Measures

The FDA, along with other government agencies, is urging consumers and retailers to avoid consuming, buying, selling, or serving these products.

If you have any Diamond Shruumz products, you should discard them.

Given that these products are marketed as candy, parents are advised to discuss this warning with their children and teenagers.
