Perdue Foods has issued a massive nationwide recall, pulling over 160,000 pounds of its popular frozen chicken nuggets and tenders from stores after multiple consumers discovered metal wire in their food.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall, which affects approximately 167,171 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken products.

These potentially hazardous products have been sold in stores across the U.S. and online, raising concerns for millions of households.

Here’s what to look for in your freezer:

  • Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets: Look for establishment number P-33944 and a "Best If Used By" date of March 23, 2025.

  • Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders: Also labeled with establishment number P-33944 and a "Best If Used By" date of March 23, 2025.

  • ButcherBox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets: These too have the establishment number P-33944 and a "Best If Used By" date of March 23, 2025.

If you have any of these items at home, don’t take any chances—either throw them out immediately or return them to the store for a refund.

And if you’ve already eaten one of these products and experience any unusual symptoms, contact your healthcare provider right away.
