Impossible Foods has issued a recall on approximately 552,643 pounds of its plant-based ground sausage products nationwide, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

The recall involves concerns over potential contamination with metal fragments.

Affected Products

Two types of Impossible ground sausage products are included in the recall:

  • Savory Ground Sausage Meat

    • UPC: 8 16697 02108 8

    • Use-by dates: July 3, 2025, to January 25, 2026

  • Spicy Ground Sausage Meat

    • UPC: 8 16697 02109 5

    • Use-by dates: June 6, 2025, to January 28, 2026

These 14-ounce packages were sold across retail locations in the United States.

The FDA has categorized this as a Class II recall, which indicates a potential but temporary health risk. Metal fragments found in the sausage could cause injuries if consumed.

If you have purchased any of the recalled products, do not consume them. Dispose of the product or return it to the retailer for a full refund.

What to Do

  1. Check Your Refrigerator: Look for the UPC codes and use-by dates mentioned above.

  2. Dispose or Return: Safely discard the product or bring it back to the place of purchase for a refund.

  3. Seek Medical Attention: If you have eaten the product and experienced illness or injury, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
