The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for Oasis Treasures Pistachio Dubai Chocolate due to potential Salmonella contamination.

This chocolate was sold online and in showcase stores across several Canadian provinces and territories, including:

  • Alberta

  • British Columbia

  • Manitoba

  • New Brunswick

  • Newfoundland and Labrador

  • Nova Scotia

  • Nunavut

  • Ontario

  • Prince Edward Island

  • Saskatchewan

  • Yukon

There’s also a chance it reached U.S. consumers through online sales.

The chocolate comes with a UPC code of 8 02962 40190 7 and a best-by date of July 25, 2025, printed on the packaging.

Although the recall primarily affects Canadian consumers, the product may also have reached U.S. customers through online sales.

What to Do

If you have the recalled product:

  1. Dispose of it immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

  2. Do not consume the chocolate to avoid potential health risks.

Health Risks

While no illnesses have been reported, Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) can cause symptoms such as:

  • Diarrhea

  • Fever

  • Stomach cramps

  • Headaches

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Loss of appetite

Symptoms typically appear 6 to 72 hours after infection and can last up to seven days. Those most at risk of severe illness include:

  • Individuals aged 65 or older

  • Pregnant individuals

  • Young children

  • People with weakened immune systems
