Tim Brummel from Atlanta had undergone sterilization about six months before his wife began showing signs of pregnancy. She was tired, eating more than usual, and given that they had been through three pregnancies before, the couple recognized the symptoms.
Tim realized he had never received the results of his last check-up, which was supposed to confirm whether the sterilization had been successful.
He called the doctor and was surprised to learn that the operation had not fully achieved its intended result.
Instead of telling his wife, Tim devised a clever plan.
He temporarily disabled the toilet flush and, after his wife had urinated in the morning, used a pregnancy test on the urine. The result was a glowing positive.
He is one of the few men in the world who found out he was going to be a father before the mother knew.
Tim bought a bouquet of flowers and a card and arranged them next to the pregnancy test. Needless to say, his wife was quite speechless when she came home and discovered the surprise.
