On Wednesday, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, resulting in eight civilians being injured.
According to Ukrainska Pravda, the attack comes on a day when the city had declared a day of mourning in memory of the victims of a recent missile strike on a hotel that occurred on the night of August 26-27.
The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration confirmed the strike on Telegram, which caused damage to infrastructure and vehicles in the city.
A fire also broke out following the impact.
Initially, Ukrainian authorities reported that three civilians had been injured in the attack.
The number of injured later rose to eight, including four men aged 29, 41, 44, and 60, who are now receiving treatment in the hospital for shrapnel wounds, bruises, and concussions. A 54-year-old woman and an 18-year-old boy were also among the injured.
In addition to the human toll, a garage cooperative and 12 cars were damaged, and windows were shattered in a local hotel.
The attack is a continuation of the escalating violence in Kryvyi Rih, where a previous Russian missile strike on a hotel left several civilians dead and injured just days earlier.
