From 7:00 PM on October 15 to 7:00 AM on October 16, Russian forces launched attacks on the Donetsk region using S-300/400 guided missiles from temporarily occupied areas.

They also deployed Kh-59 guided missiles targeting the Chernihiv region and 136 attack drones from regions including Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Ukrainian Air Force aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups were mobilized to counter these assaults.

By 7:00 AM, air defenses successfully shot down enemy UAVs in multiple regions, including Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi.

Additionally, the Air Force reported that over 20 UAVs remained airborne within Ukraine's airspace, with combat operations ongoing. Notably, two enemy drones retreated toward Russia.

The Air Force urged the public not to take independent action upon discovering suspicious objects resembling drones and to report such findings to local authorities or military officials promptly.

The enemy had also launched groups of Shahed-type kamikaze drones from northern and southern directions.
