The war over territory rages on in Ukraine, with occupying forces continuing to strike populated areas.
The most recent attack took place on Monday morning, June 8, when a massive Russian shelling hit several Ukrainian cities. The bombardment resulted in the deaths of 20 people and left about 50 others injured.
This information was shared on the Telegram channel of Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, as reported by Ukrinform.
Attack Details
The morning attack primarily affected Kyiv, as well as the cities of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and the Donetsk region.
The Russian missile strike, which involved over 40 missiles of various types, caused extensive damage to residential buildings, infrastructure, and a children's hospital.
In the capital alone, seven people died and 25 were injured.
"Overall, about 20 people died and around fifty were injured in the morning attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine," stated the message from Klymenko.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing, involving various services such as police officers, dog experts, explosives technicians, and psychologists. According to Klymenko, these teams will work continuously until the search and rescue operations are complete.
