A tragic missile strike on an apartment building in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, claimed the lives of a woman and her three young children, according to Ukrainian authorities, reports Ziare.
The Russian missile struck on Monday morning, destroying part of the residential block in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown.
Rescuers initially found the mother’s body under the rubble, and later, they recovered the bodies of her three children.
The children were two boys, ages two and ten, and a two-month-old baby girl, as reported by their grandmother.
Father was in the other room
The children’s father survived the blast, as he was in another room at the time of the attack.
In addition to this family’s loss, fourteen people were injured, and approximately 40 residential buildings were damaged in the industrial city during the strike, Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko confirmed.
This tragedy has deeply affected people across Ukraine, evoking memories of a similar attack in Lviv in September, where a mother and her three daughters lost their lives.
Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets expressed his condolences on social media, saying, “The missile attack on Kryvyi Rih took a mother and her three children. Only the father survived. It is an indescribable pain.”
The deadly attack on the family is part of ongoing missile strikes that continue to target civilians across Ukraine, leaving communities in mourning and further highlighting the human toll of the conflict.
