In the early hours of January 6, Russian artillery targeted the Nikopol district in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, according to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. Lysak shared the details in a Facebook post, as reported by Ukrinform.
"Last night, the aggressor shelled the Nikopol district with artillery half a dozen times and launched a suicide drone over the area. The attacks terrorized the communities of Nikopol, Pokrovska, and Marhanets," Lysak stated.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
During the evening and night, Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted and destroyed five Russian drones in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
This latest attack follows a deadly assault on January 5, when Russian forces shelled the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts, killing one person. The continued attacks highlight the ongoing aggression in the region.
