Russia has suffered 874,560 military casualties in Ukraine since launching its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, according to the latest figures from Ukraine’s General Staff.
This report was covered by The Kyiv Independent.
Just in the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces inflicted another 1,060 casualties, adding to Moscow’s staggering losses on the battlefield.
Heavy Equipment Losses Mount
Beyond manpower, the General Staff's report also highlighted equipment destruction, including:
10,222 tanks
21,234 armored fighting vehicles
23,847 artillery systems
1,303 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS)
1,087 air defense systems
370 aircraft and 331 helicopters
27,274 drones
38,994 military transport vehicles and fuel tanks
28 ships and one submarine
While Ukraine's figures cannot be independently verified, Western intelligence and independent analysts agree that Russia has sustained massive losses in both personnel and equipment.
The UK’s Ministry of Defense previously estimated Russian casualties at over 300,000 as of late 2023, while U.S. sources indicated that losses—including killed and wounded—could be even higher.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces have stepped up their drone and missile strikes against Russian military infrastructure, targeting oil refineries, air bases, and logistics hubs deep inside Russia.
