Furthermore, the Finnish Army has recently conducted military exercises near the Russian border, temporarily closing the highway to the border checkpoint at Vaalimaa. The "South 2/24" exercises, which began on July 21, involve approximately 1,700 personnel and 300 pieces of equipment, including aircraft.
