Ukrainian forces have deployed Poland’s highly regarded AHS Krab self-propelled howitzer in the ongoing battle for Russia’s Kursk region.

AHS Krab and Challenger Tanks

Footage from the front lines shows the AHS Krab alongside Ukraine's 2S7 Pion artillery, highlighting the strength of Western-supplied military equipment in Ukraine’s defense, according to WP.

The AHS Krab is part of a broader arsenal of advanced military machines that Ukraine has mobilized in this region, which has also seen the deployment of NATO’s Leopard 2A6 tanks and Britain’s Challenger 2 tanks.

Polish equipment, such as the Krab howitzer and PT-91 Twardy tanks, has played a crucial role in shifting the battlefield dynamic.

Western and Soviet-Era Systems Working in Unison

The AHS Krab has earned high praise from Ukrainian forces for its 1,000-horsepower engine, which allows it to operate in harsh winter conditions. The 155mm howitzer can strike targets up to 40 kilometers away and deliver rapid fire, releasing up to three rounds in just 10 seconds.

Alongside the Krab, Ukraine has also deployed the 2S7 Pion, a Soviet-era self-propelled gun capable of hitting targets up to 50 kilometers away with rocket-assisted munitions.

The 2S7 Pion was developed in the 1970s and remains one of the most powerful artillery systems, capable of firing high-explosive, chemical, and even nuclear shells.

With these advanced weapons, Ukrainian forces continue to make strategic gains in contested regions, demonstrating the effectiveness of Western and Soviet-era military systems working in unison on the frontlines.
