The war in Ukraine has entered a dangerous new stage. What began as a conflict fought mostly on Ukrainian soil has expanded, with attacks now reaching deeper into Russian territory.

As both sides adjust their strategies, long-range drone strikes have become a key weapon in this fight.

These attacks target infrastructure, military installations, and even major cities, shifting the battlefield in ways that were once unthinkable.

Ukrainian forces launched a series of drone strikes on Russian territory, hitting multiple locations, including the capital, Moscow.

Confirmed by Moscow Mayor

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that around 50 drones were intercepted over the regions of Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, and Crimea.

Videos shared on Russian social media suggest that attacks may have also reached other areas. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that four districts around the city were hit early Friday morning, according to Ziare.

One of the most damaging strikes appears to have been on the Rosneft oil refinery in Ryazan, located about 125 miles southeast of Moscow.

Russian sources claim that at least ten drones targeted the facility, either striking directly or being shot down before crashing into the site. Footage from the scene shows large explosions lighting up the night sky.

The attack reportedly ended around 2:00 a.m., causing fires and extensive damage to the facility.

Russia responded with its own strikes, launching drones at Kyiv and surrounding areas.

The attack destroyed an apartment building and a private home, killing two civilians.

Ukrainian officials reported that rescue teams were working to clear debris and assist survivors.

The latest round of strikes signals a shift in tactics. With Ukraine increasingly taking the fight onto Russian soil, the war is evolving into a broader conflict.
