Glickenhaus, a former Le Mans racing team, has completed its transition from the track to the road with the launch of its first-ever road car, the 004S.

This supercar brings motorsport precision to everyday driving, featuring a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.

The car boasts 650 horsepower, a three-seat configuration with the driver centrally positioned (reminiscent of the iconic McLaren F1), and a focus on delivering an uncompromising driving experience.

A Race Car at Heart

The Glickenhaus 004 comes in two versions:

  • 004S: The standard road model.

  • 004CS: A street-legal variant with track-inspired upgrades, including a modified diffuser, larger brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Both versions are built on a custom carbon fiber chassis, offering lightweight durability and motorsport-level performance.

Initially planned for production in Connecticut, the 004 will now roll off the line at Roush Performance’s facility in Detroit, Michigan, with deliveries starting in early 2025.

The V8 engine powering the 004 is sourced from General Motors and is shared with the Corvette C7 Z06 and Cadillac CTS-V, ensuring reliability and raw power.

Minimalist but Functional

The 004 is all about the driving experience, and its interior reflects that ethos.

It’s stripped of excessive luxury, though it does include air conditioning, electrically adjustable seats, and an infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—a feature GM controversially excludes from its latest vehicles.

For added practicality, the car is equipped with a nose-lift system to handle road bumps and uneven surfaces.

The 004S and 004CS are sold exclusively through HK Motorcars in Mount Kisco, New York. Prices start at $450,000, reflecting its premium craftsmanship and performance heritage.

A Statement from Glickenhaus

“The 004 represents everything Glickenhaus stands for,” said Nat Mundy, Sales Director at HK Motorcars.

“It’s a car designed for motorsport, but its road version doesn’t sacrifice the essence of racing. It’s a true joy for both everyday drives and serious enthusiasts.”

Glickenhaus has leveraged its extensive racing experience to deliver a road car that feels at home on both the track and the streets.

With its no-compromise philosophy, the 004 sets a new standard for street-legal supercars.

But with its $450,000 price tag, the Glickenhaus 004 isn’t for everyone.
