Canadians are being urged to check their refrigerators.

Time to check your fridge—there’s an urgent recall on margarine across Canada.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall after mold was discovered in several popular margarine products.

The affected brand? PC Blue Menu.

If you’ve purchased their Original Margarine (in 907-gram and 1.81-kilogram tubs) or Margarine with Olive Oil (907-gram tubs), it’s time to take a closer look.

Here are the UPC codes you should be checking:

  • Original Margarine (907-gram): 0 60383 77867 5

  • Original Margarine (1.81-kilogram): 0 60383 77868 2

  • Margarine with Olive Oil (907-gram): 0 60383 77938 2

These products have been sold nationwide, so if your margarine matches any of the above, it could be contaminated with mold.

The best thing to do? Toss it immediately or return it to the store for a refund.

Even though the CFIA says this type of contamination isn’t “harmful,” food with mold can still cause illness due to dangerous mycotoxins that may develop.

So, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Don’t forget to clean any surfaces that came into contact with the recalled margarine to prevent any lingering mold spores.

Stay safe, and spread the word to make sure everyone checks their refrigerators!
