Costco has issued a health alert for a shelf-stable chicken chili product that may not have gone through the proper safety inspection.

The alert was shared in a letter to Costco members and published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The item in question is the Allen Family Foods White Chicken Chili, sold in 7-pound, eight-count boxes.

Details to Check on the Packaging

Consumers are advised to check their pantry for products with the following details:

  • Lot Codes: E225077, E225079, E225080, E225081, or E225083

  • Best-by Dates: March 18, 20, 21, 22, or 24, 2026

  • Establishment Number: 7011 (printed on the packaging)

These items were shipped to Costco locations in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Why the Alert Was Issued

The FSIS states that the product did not undergo the required import reinspection by U.S. authorities.

While it has not been officially recalled, both Costco and FSIS advise customers not to consume the product and instead return it to the store for a refund.

If you have this product at home, do not eat it. You can return it to any Costco location for a full refund.
