Former U.S. President Donald Trump has acknowledged serious threats to his life from Iran, stating that the regime has already made attempts and will likely "try again."

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Trump expressed concerns following reports from the FBI in July that Iran had been plotting his assassination.

“There are big threats on my life from Iran,” Trump wrote on Wednesday, adding that the entire U.S. Military is on high alert due to the situation.

He also mentioned that previous assassination attempts by Iran had failed but warned of future risks.

Trump explained, "I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before," and thanked Congress for unanimously approving increased Secret Service funding.

According to Newsweek, Trump’s remarks follow a previous incident where a separate would-be assassin allegedly fired at his ear.

Reflecting on the bipartisan support for increased security, Trump added, "Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something. An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!"
