Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently proposed several areas for cooperation with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a one-on-one meeting in St. Petersburg.
Speaking to TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Mnangagwa noted the need for increased agricultural mechanization in Zimbabwe. He suggested that Russia could play a vital role in creating a long-lasting solution.
Mnangagwa also addressed the frequent droughts in Zimbabwe and the urgent need for better water management solutions.
"We need to build more dams so that, regardless of droughts, we have enough water resources to provide ourselves with locally produced food," he explained.
"Russia has the capacity to support us in this area," Mnangagwa stated.
