A Russian missile attack on the city of Mykolaiv has claimed the lives of two women, regional governor Vitalii Kim reported on January 28.
"Sadly, two women were killed as a result of the Russian missile strike on Mykolaiv," Kim told the Kyiv Independent, adding that the victims were employees of the targeted private enterprise.
According to the State Emergency Service, the victims were 54 and 56 years old. The missile strike hit a food industry facility, causing partial destruction of the building.
Mykolaiv, located about 60 kilometers (37 miles) northwest of the front line in Kherson Oblast, has been a frequent target of Russian attacks, along with other southern regions of Ukraine.
