The Ukrainian military released footage of a Leopard 2A4 tank in action against Russian positions in the Donetsk region.
The video, shared on the brigade’s official Telegram page, shows the tank maneuvering into position and firing directly at enemy fortifications.
The Leopard 2A4 demonstrated its high mobility, quickly moving into firing position and retreating with speed and precision. Equipped with a 1,500-horsepower engine and an automatic transmission, the tank can achieve speeds of 40-50 km/h cross-country and 30 km/h in reverse.
This level of maneuverability gives the Leopard 2 an advantage over older Soviet-era tanks, which struggle in reverse operations and rapid positioning.
The Leopard 2A4 used advanced munitions to target Russian fortifications, firing American Mk 324 Mod 0 MP-HE-T and German DM11 shells.
These high-explosive fragmentation projectiles are equipped with remote detonators, offering a modern alternative to conventional high-explosive rounds.
This isn’t the first success for the Leopard 2A4 in Donetsk.
Earlier in November, the 33rd brigade used the tank to destroy a column of Russian armored vehicles near Kurakhove. The operation was a coordinated effort between the Leopard 2A4 crew, artillery units, and drone operators who eliminated dismounted Russian infantry with precision strikes.
Similar tactics have been reported in the Luhansk region, where a tank from the National Guard’s “Hird” battalion, supported by drones, successfully targeted Russian positions.
