Ukrainian military forces have reportedly struck the Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia’s Voronezh region on the night of October 3, according to sources from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The coordinated drone attack targeted critical military infrastructure, including warehouses storing guided aerial bombs, parking lots for SU-35 and SU-34 fighter jets, and aviation fuel storage facilities.

The Borisoglebsk airfield has been a vital base for Russian air operations against Ukraine, launching attacks with guided bombs.

Ukrainian forces, including the SBU and Special Operations Forces, aimed to weaken Russia's capacity to carry out these strikes.

Local Russian reports described a night filled with the sound of Russian air defenses engaging around 30 Ukrainian drones.

Powerful explosions and fires were noted near the airfield, with satellite monitoring capturing four distinct fire centers.

“The demilitarization of Russian military airfields will continue. The enemy should not feel at ease, even on its own territory," a source from the SBU told Hromadske.
