Russia unleashed a wave of drone attacks overnight on multiple Ukrainian regions, leaving one man dead, at least two others injured, and widespread destruction in its wake, according to Ukrainian police and regional officials on Telegram.
In Sumy, a 32-year-old security guard was killed when a Russian drone struck a warehouse, igniting a fire. Emergency crews, including firefighters, police, and paramedics, responded swiftly to contain the flames and assess the damage.
In Odesa, Russian drones targeted an energy facility, causing significant damage.
A two-story house was completely destroyed, and at least two people were injured, with one requiring hospitalization, according to regional governor Oleh Kiper.
Earlier reports indicate that Shahed-136 drones were used in previous attacks on Odesa, striking port infrastructure, civilian sites, and energy facilities.
In Kharkiv’s Saltivsky district, drone strikes heavily damaged a nine-story building, shattering windows in nearby apartment blocks and even a kindergarten. The attack also wrecked eight cars and destroyed an elevator shaft.
Rescuers evacuated a disabled woman trapped inside, and officials reported that one person suffered injuries from extreme stress.
This latest wave of attacks follows Russia’s ongoing drone and missile campaign against Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian targets.
Just days ago, a 73-year-old man was killed, and another local resident was injured in similar Shahed drone strikes on Odesa.
