On October 27, Russian forces launched a targeted FPV drone attack on the Kutsurub community in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv district, resulting in the death of a 43-year-old resident who was traveling by moped.

The attack was followed by a second strike, commonly referred to as a “double tap,” aimed at a police vehicle that had arrived on the scene to investigate the initial incident.

According to regional police reports, while the second drone strike set the police vehicle ablaze, the officers escaped unharmed.

The destructive aftermath, however, has left Ukrainian law enforcement and local officials on high alert.

Law enforcement officials have launched a criminal investigation under Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, addressing violations of the laws and customs of war.

Evidence collection is underway at both impact sites, with authorities working to document these incidents as part of a broader investigation into alleged Russian war crimes.

This escalation highlights the tactics Russian forces are increasingly using in populated areas, with attacks targeting both civilians and responders.
